ステレオ録音のレコードについては常々思うところがあり、奇麗に再生することはモノラル録音以上に難しいと考えています。
1. 内周部分の高域特性の悪化
2. クロストークによる左右の分離の悪さ
3. モノラル以上に感じるスクラッチノイズの存在感
正直なところ、ステレオ録音世代になるとテープの状態が良ければCDやSACDでよいのでは、と思っています。
ただ、レコードならではのサウンドキャラクターによって聴感上の印象も変わってくることがあるので、私の手持ちのレコードを何枚か紹介します。
I have always thought that stereo recordings are more difficult to play back beautifully than monaural recordings.
1. Deterioration of high-frequency characteristics in the inner part
2. poor separation between left and right due to crosstalk
3. presence of scratch noise felt more than monaural
Frankly, I think that CDs and SACDs are fine for the stereo recording generation, as long as the tapes are in good condition.
However, the audible impression may vary depending on the unique sound character of the record, so I will introduce some of the records I have on hand.
Bruno Walter - Beetohoven - SYMPHONY NO. 6 IN F MAJOR, Op. 68 “Pastorale” [Columbia(japan) OS 194] (January 13,15&17, 1958)
みんなが良く知っているレコード。曲の長さ的に内周までカットされないので、音が安定していて気に入ってます。
初出は1958年で、当盤は1962年にリリースされた第二版になるようです。
よく言われる、あったかい音ですね。1面と2面でごくわずかに高域特性が異なりましたので気にならない程度に合わせてます。
A record that everyone knows well. I like it because it doesn't cut to the inner in terms of length, so the sound is stable.
First published in 1958, this disc appears to be the second edition released in 1962.
The high-frequency characteristics were very slightly different between the first and second planes, so I adjusted them to the point where I didn't mind.
